POLARIS 2020 DIRECTOR SUBMISSION
MOLLY FLOOD is a director based in Tkarón:to/Toronto. She is the director and co-creator of BAND LADIES (2020), streaming on AmazonPrime US and Highball.TV, one of three projects to receive both the Bell Digital Media Fund and Independent Production Fund (IPF), selected from submissions across Canada.
Nominated for Best Director (ORCHID) at the Austin Revolution Film Festival, a Women in the Director’s Chair (WIDC) alumn, Molly holds a BFA from the University of Alberta and is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory. She is an associate artist with It Could Still Happen, a collective of experimental theatre artists who create visceral live-performance experiences in alternative spaces.
Molly is currently in development on a pastoral gothic mini series titled A Funeral For Wolves with playwright Jill Connell.
Molly started out making plays and playing in bands in Edmonton.

SHUT UP has screened at Fuse Female Film Festival in Pasadena CA, the The St. John’s International Women’s Festival and Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival (September 2020).

We collaborated with puppet makers Erin and Sarah of CATERWAUL THEATRE. They are the best.

I mean, muscle cars and muscles. A friend of mine played it for his boss as a reminder to pay up.

WHIFF is a short film I directed for the CFC Writer’s program. Watch the montage footage at 2:00. We had so much fun building this sequence, which includes fire, blood, pantyhose and me in a sequin dress.
